Get Ready for . . .
Flexible Seating!

"Academic subjects that provoke anxiety . . . are better addressed in classrooms that feel comfortable and familiar to students."
- Stephen Merrill, 2018  (Check out the entire Flexible Seating article here: edutopia.org)
A classroom with flexible seating looks different from a traditional classroom that uses only desks and chairs. Items such as pillows, stools, standing tables, etc. are used to allow students to have options for where they can best work and learn. The goal of flexible seating is to give students choice and to help them find the type of seating that allows them to achieve their best learning. Their best learning spot may change each day based on their needs or the work they are being asked to do.

Several teachers have seen benefits to implementing flexible seating. My goal and intention is to empower our kids and increase student engagement. I hope that your children will continue to enjoy and benefit from this opportunity.
